find your mac address

What is a MAC address and why could I need it?

The MAC address is the easiest way to identify a device, if the name shown on the HomeHalo dashboard doesn't help you to identify the device and who it should belong to. By finding the MAC address, you can match it to the correct device on the dashboard, and then assign it to the correct user.

In most cases, your devices will have a suitable name so that you can identify what the device is. For instance, an iPad will have a name such as "matts-ipad". This is case you do not need to find its MAC address.

But, some devices do not have a meaningful name, such as Android devices and some games consoles. In this case, it is best to find the MAC address to determine what the device is and who it should be assigned to.

On the Dashboard, under the devices tab, you will find the MAC address for each device connected to the HomeHalo:

Now, you can simply find the MAC address on your physical device and ensure that they match, so you know you have the correct device.

Please choose a question from the list above to find the MAC address for a specific device.

The HomeHalo dashboard shows you the device information, where you can see the MAC address. Then simply find the MAC address on each android device you have to identify their owners:

For android users, go to the android device, and go to the settings page:

Next, tap the "more" icon on the top row:

Now tap "About device" at the bottom on the menu:

Next tap the "status" option:

Now if you scroll to towards the bottom of the page, you will see the "wi-fi MAC address" listed:
